"Owning our story can be hard but not really as difficult as spending our lives running from it. Embracing your vulnerabilities is risky but not nearly as dangerous as giving up on love and belonging and joy - the experiences that make us the most vulnerable. Only when we are brave enough to explore the darkness will we discover the infinite power of our light." – Brene Brown
I am a very friendly person who enjoys engaging and connecting with people from all walks of life. Being able to provide someone with a space where they can feel safe and comfortable to share what’s going on for them means everything to me.
In this crazy world, at times, our relationships are all we have, which is why I place so much importance on establishing strong, loyal and trustworthy connections with others – as you never know when that could make all the difference!
I work from a supportive, person-centred approach to therapy, and prefer to take the lead from my client, meeting them where they are at. I draw on multiple theoretical frameworks, so as to suit the needs of my client and the therapeutic relationship. My intention is to hold a space for my client, while actively engaging with them in order to collaboratively work through uncomfortable feelings, leaving them with skills needed to cope with what life throws at them next.
I am passionate about mental health awareness and strive to increase people’s understandings of what mental health is, how and where to get help, whilst decreasing the stigma that exists around mental illnesses.
